Police arrest 236 gangsters and middlemen in 4 days

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Police have arrested 226 people in four days in course of a search operation against hooliganism, middlemen and indecent behaviour in different places.

Central Police Spokesperson Deputy Inspector General of Police, Avi Narayan Kafle, said that legal action has been initiated by arresting 226 people as part of the campaign carried out on April 18, 19, 20 and 21.

As per the details released by Nepal Police Headquarters, 51 people were arrested from Kathmandu valley, 18 from Koshi province, one from Koshi province, seven from Madhes province, 23 from Bagmati province, two from Gandaki province and 11 from Karnali province.

Likewise, eight people were arrested from Madhes province, 10 from Gandaki, four from Lumbini, two from Sudurpaschim province and 62 from Kathmandu valley on July 6.

According to the police, those arrested include hooliganism, middlemen, harassing the transport and land revenue office and misbehaving in public places. Spokesperson Kafle said that the campaign will continue.
