The 7th general convention of the Kathmandu Metropolitan Corporation has endorsed its annual policy and programme for the financial year 2020/21. The policy and programme tabled by Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya was endorsed on Saturday.
The 258-point policy and programme is focused on public health services reforms, school education reforms, food security, entrepreneurship and employment promotion. The KMC has also envisaged developing Kathmandu valley into one prosperous city in collaboration with other municipalities in the valley. It will also promote good governance and e-governance.
The metropolis will develop a GIS-based integrated city map and municipal information system. It will organise various technical and sensitization sessions for promoting good construction practices in the city. Solid waste management, pollution control, and greenery promotion will be organised under the slogan ‘healthy air, healthy life’.
