State government places emphasis on tourism development-Minister Lamsal

Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of the Gandaki State, Bikas Lamsal said the hidden tourism treasures of the rural areas should be transformed into opportunities in global market. Minister Lamsal said this at a sapling plantation programme organized by Mahendra Cave Infrastructure Development Committee on the Mahendra cave premises on Sunday. He also highlighted the need of global class tourism services by identifying and promoting its diversities. “The State government is focused on the development of tourism”, he shared, adding the government has come up with a special plan for elevating the coronavirus-battered tourism entrepreneurs. It will soon to be reflected in to the results”. 
Also speaking on the occasion, state assembly member Krishna Thapa said the development activities would take momentum from the collective efforts. Another state assembly member Bindu Kumar Thapa underlined that the state government should bring relief package to render relief to the coronavirus-hit tourism entrepreneurs. Likewise, state assembly member Prabha Koirala also shed light on identifying and promoting new tourism destinations. As many as 150 saplings of various species were planted at the programme organized to help conserve environment, shared committee chair Gurudfutta Bhattarai. 
A child park has been constructed on the premises of Mahendra cave at the cost of Rs 4.8 million with the financial assistance of the Gandaki State government. NC expresses solidarity for sit-in Nepali Congress (NC) Kaski has expressed solidarity with the sit-in enforced by the Nepal Students’ Union for the past four days demanding appointment of Vice-Chancellor and Registrar to the Gandaki-Pokhara University. The student wing of the Nepali Congress has continued staging sit-in stating the students’ future has remained uncertain due to sheer ignorance in the appointment in the university for over 10 months. NC Kaski President Krishna KC called on students’ leaders, Rajib Bhandari, Firoj Subedi and Deependra Gautam, and expressed the party’s solidarity with the sit-in they staged to mount pressure for addressing the genuine demands. He also warned of dire consequences if the genuine demands of the NSU were not addressed properly to protect the future of thousands of students.
