A total of Rs 41.76 billion was collected in the fiscal year 2019/20 in Morang district, according to the District Treasury Office, Biratnagar. The amount is less by Rs 6.20 billion against the revenue collected in the previous fiscal year.
Chief of the Office Parshu Ram Nepal said that reduced economic activities due to lockdown order, slowdown in construction works and closure of the market shrank the revenue collection in Morang. In the last fiscal year, a total of around Rs 3.14 billion was spent in capital expenditure in the district.
