The stock market set a new record on Sunday, the first trading day of the year. On Sunday, the NEPSE index rose by 48.74 points to 2524 points. As the Nepse index increased by 48.74 points, the turnover was around Rs 10 billion. This is the highest transaction amount ever. Similarly, 202 companies had a turnover of more than Rs 10.44 billion.
More than 177.36 million shares have been bought and sold. The prices of more than three dozen companies have risen by more than 9 percent. Himalayan Distillery is in the forefront with more than Rs 530 million in sales. Similarly, Nepal Life Insurance is in the second place and Shikhar Insurance is in the third place.
