What should be the next chairman of the Securities Board?

Kathmandu. The government has invited applications for the appointment of the chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). The government has invited applications for the appointment of a new chairman after the resignation of the then chairman Santosh Narayan Sh restha. 

Interested and qualified Nepalese citizens can apply for the post of Chairman of the Board by May 21.

The application has to be submitted to the Financial Sector Management and Corporation Coordination Division of the Ministry of Finance, Singha Durbar, according to the recommendation committee formed for the appointment of the chairman of the board. 

According to the committee, the applicant should have a master’s degree from a recognized university and must have worked for at least7 years in stock market management, capital market development, economic, financial, commerce, management or law. 

Applicants must include personal details, Nepali citizenship certificate, educational qualification certificate and professional experience ( (. Likewise, the committee recommends that the applicant should not have been convicted of corruption, money laundering, human trafficking, drug trafficking, antiquities or wildlife related offences or any other criminal offense involving moral turpitude.

Similarly, a person who has not completed 3 years of being released from the blacklist, has obtained a permanent residence permit in a foreign country, is working by signing a contract with a public body and is mentally unsound will be disqualified from the post of chairperson.The committee has made public the application Notice regarding the invitation
