Kathmandu. Birat Agro Limited, which has a business office in Sunsari, is going to issue primary shares (IPO) to the general public. The company has signed an agreement with NIC Asia Capital Limited to provide all the institutional advisory services required for the IPO issuance.
Under NIC
Asia Capital’s “IDEA to IPO” service, Birat Agro will provide all the advisory services required from the company’s inception stage to the IPO issue. As per the agreement, NIC Asia Capital will provide the necessary facilitation and consultation to the company in the process of public share issuance as per the prevailing laws.
Established with the objective of developing Nepal’s agriculture and aquaculture sector in a commercial, modern and sustainable way, Birat Agro has been engaged in commercial integrated agriculture and fisheries in Morang and Sunsari districts through 150 ponds spread over 100 hectares of water bodies.
The company has been producing and distributing various types of floating and submersible fish feed by operating a modern fish feed plant with a daily production capacity of 25 tons at Khanar Industrial Area in Itahari-13.
The company plans to mobilize the capital received from the IPO in the coming days for the expansion of production capacity, modern processing technology and business infrastructure development.
Birat Agro aims to set up a Pangas fillet and fish processing plant using modern technology, to process, package and market fish products and to set up a pellet feed plant with a capacity of 10 tons per day in addition to the existing floating fish feed plant.
The company has forwarded a plan to develop the activities from fish production to fish feed production, modern processing and filleting, cold storage, packaging and market management in a single integrated business system under the ‘Farm to Market’ concept.
This
expansion plan is expected to contribute to value addition, use of modern technology, employment generation and import substitution in Nepal’s agriculture and aquaculture sector.
