Kathmandu. The government has forwarded a plan for infrastructure development with the aim of strengthening the growing attraction of students and parents towards community schools. The work of expanding physical infrastructure has been started by giving priority to 109 big public schools across the country with more than 2,000 students.
Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel said that a total of Rs 6.54 billion has been allocated for the strengthening of infrastructure of these schools in the current fiscal year.
According to Minister Pokharel, Rs 5.34 billion has been released for 89 schools in the first phase under this scheme. With the amount released, the construction of modern 12-room, three-storey buildings in the schools will be expedited.
These buildings, which will be built at a cost of about Rs 6 crore per school, will also have modern classrooms, well-managed laboratories and a rich library. Minister Pokharel said that this will make the learning environment of the students more safe, systematic and effective.
“It is a matter of happiness that there is a high pressure of students in some community schools, while we are equally aware of the fact that some schools are going through a shortage of students. To bridge this disparity between schools, we have now started improving the infrastructure from big schools. “I would also like to express my commitment to end this inequality forever by equally strengthening the quality of education and physical infrastructure of all community schools in the country in the coming days,” he said. ’
Thanking all the teachers, guardians and students who are working round the clock to build the future of the country, Minister Pokharel called for the cooperation and cooperation of all to change the face of community education.
