Prime Minister holds ‘head-to-head’ discussion with contractors, promises to solve problems

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balendra Shah has held discussions with the construction businessmen and . Prime Minister Shah held a meeting with the office-bearers of the Federation of Contract ors’ Association of Nepal (FCAN) on Thursday at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. 

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shah discussed the existing problems in the construction sector, promotion of construction business and development of physical infrastructure. 

On the occasion, Prime Minister Shah said that the construction sector is an important basis for economic development, employment generation and infrastructure construction in the country, adding that the government was positive to resolve the practical problems seen in the construction sector. 

“Active and effective cooperation of all sides is essential to complete the development works on time by making the construction business dignified, transparent, responsible and result-oriented,” he stressed.

The meeting was attended by Nichol as Pandey, Senior Vice-President Mukesh Panta, General Secretary Shiva Hari Ghimire, Bagmati Province Vice President Bal Krishna Thapa and FCAN’s former President and advisor Jayaram Lamichhane. They apprised the PM about the challenges faced by the construction sector such as payment, deadline extension, contract management, timely project implementation, price adjustment, banking and investment. 

Similarly, the construction entrepreneurs have stressed on the need to make the collaboration between the government and the private sector more effective to make the construction industry dynamic.
