Kathmandu. Two persons have been arrested for cheating Rs 5.80 crore on the pretext of providing subsidized grants from the government for the operation of agricultural farms.

The arrestees have been identified as Shree Krishna Maharjan, 52, of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14 and Narayan Khanal, 60, of Nakhipot, Lalitpur Metropolitan City-14.

The CIB team arrested them on the basis of a complaint filed by Jalim Singh Mahato.

Yogendra Kumar Khadka, Deputy Superintendent of Police (SP) of the Bureau, said that the accused had been swindling the amount from time to time on the pretext of providing subsidized grant for the agriculture farm.
