Kathmandu. Health insurance payments, which had been a problem in the previous years due to lack of resources, have now become easier. After the formation of the new government under the leadership of Balendra Shah (Balen), the payment of the remaining insurance amount has gained momentum.
In the last week alone, the government has sent one billion three crore rupees to the accounts of the concerned health institutions forhealth insurance.A total of 155 government, 25 community hospitals and 37 private hospitals have received the insurance amount.
The problem related to health insurance has been gradually resolved after the government sent Rsone billion three crores to various health institutions of the country repeatedly to clear the arrears of the previous year.According to the information made public by the Health Insurance Board, more than Rs 320.6 million has been paid to the poor people two days ago.
Senior Medical of the Board Superintendent Dr. According to Dr. Pawan Shah, the insurance amount used to be paid only to those who get treatment in government hospitals some time and this time the insurance amount has also been paid to those who get treatment in private health institutions.
Among the hospitals that receive such payment are more thanone hundred and fifty hospitals including District Hospital, Bheri Zonal Hospital, Narayani Hospital, Nepal Manipal Teaching Hospital, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
Similarly, the government has also sent the insurance amount to the National Trauma Centre,BP , Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan and B& C Teaching Hospital in Jhapa and private hospitals including and the poor people.According to the decision of the National Insurance Board, the amount has been paid to the poor citizens for dialysis, treatment of heart disease, serious head injury, spinal injury etc. Out of the claims received from the health institution, payment has been sent to the claims that have completed the documentation.
The government has allocated Rs 15 billion this time to avoid confusion in the future of the health insurance program due to lack of payment source. In addition, the government is planning to adopt measures such as providing insurance within the scope of resources, health check-up of hospitals and strictmonitoring of the purchase of goods.
Minister for Health and Food Hygiene Nisha Mehta said that the government will clear the arrears so that welfare programs like health insurance are not confused. She said that the health insurance will be strictly monitored and regulated to prevent the recurrence of the problem.
