Kathmandu. Instead of Rs 1 lakh to help those affected by the floods in Bhotekoshi, the Suyog Savings and Credit Cooperative has deposited Rs 10 lakh. Instead of depositing Rs 1,01,001, the cooperative was found to have transferred Rs 10,01,001 to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund.
This fact came to light after the cooperatives wrote to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund to return the remaining amount after transferring more money than they wanted to help.
The cooperative has stated that the act was done by mistake . Similarly, the cooperative has written to the fund to refund the remaining Rs 9 lakh, keeping the Rs 1,01,000 that they want to help .
After the fact came to light, the cooperative has written to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund and after the decision of the committee, it has been informed that the money will be returned to the cooperative.
