Kathmandu. A person who died in a road accident and performed the last rites of his family has returned home alive. Padam Bahadur Rai, 37, of Let ang Municipality-5 Kheruwa has returned home.

The family had cremated Rai saying that he died in a car accident during treatment. However, the incident took a new turn after the same Rai suddenly returned home.

The motorcycle met with an accident on the Chatara-Pakali road section of Barahkshetra Municipality-4 on June 9. Pedestrians were injured when the motorcycle hit them.

The injured person was taken to Birat Teaching Hospital for treatment. However, he died during treatment on June 11. The body of the person who died during treatment was kept at the mortuary of Koshi Hospital .

When the identity of the deceased could not be ascertained, the police issued a public notice and appealed to the relatives of the deceased to come in contact. After seeing this information, Padam Bahadur’s mother reached the police.

After looking at the body, she identified the body as that of her son (Padam Bahadur) and the police completed the necessary paperwork and handed over the body to the family. The relatives cremated the body . So much so that the relatives had even taken the amount for the accident insurance in the name of Padam Bahadur.

However, the deceased Padam Bahadur has suddenly returned home. Morang police have confirmed that Padam has returned home after the cremation was done by the family. According to the police, the investigation into the incident has started again after the person who had been cremated as a deceased returned home suddenly.

Padam has been missing since January!

Padam was incommunicado since January 2082, where the family had cremated him as a deceased. He had left home and went to India without informing his family.

After the police revealed the information of a person who was not in contact with the family, the police suspect that Padam’s mother, who is like her son, may have identified the body . However, further investigation is underway, police said.
