The Insurance Regulatory Authority of Nepal has decided to conduct examinations for insurance agents. The authority has made it mandatory for insurance agents to take the examination from the month of Kartik onwards.

The authority has sent information about taking the examination for insurance agents to all life insurance companies. Along with this, from the month of Kartik onwards, the authority will also conduct examinations for becoming an insurance agent, and passing the examination will be required.

Similarly, when the authority conducts examinations for agents from Kartik onwards, it has also announced the suspension of the registration process for agents in the AMS system from Ashoj 25.

In this way, there is a provision in the Insurance Act for the intermediary to obtain permission before passing the examination according to the prescribed procedure. Following the same act, the authority has decided to conduct examinations for insurance agents. After passing the examination conducted by the authority, only then can anyone become an insurance agent for any insurance company.
