The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has apprehended three individuals, including Rambir Yadav, the survey supervisor at the Survey Office in Lalitpur, on charges of bribery.
Acting on a tip-off regarding their alleged demand for a bribe from a service seeker seeking a land certificate after demarcation, the CIAA conducted the operation. In addition to Yadav, paralegal service providers Dinesh Banjara and Binod Adhikari were also taken into custody from the office premises.
The arrests were carried out on Tuesday, as confirmed by CIAA Spokesperson Narahari Ghimire. It has been reported that the CIAA seized an amount of Rs 250,000, suspected to be the bribe, from them. The arrestees are under investigation.
