Corruption case filed against principal, accountant

Kathmandu. The principal and accountant of a school in Jhapa have been found guilty of embezzling Rs 10 million.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against former principal of Himalaya Secondary School, Damak, Om Prasad Upadhyay Acharya and accountant Dayasagar Acharya.

The CIAA has filed a case at the Special Court, claiming that the principal and the accountant were involved in embezzlement of around Rs 10 million.

According to the CIAA’s charge sheet, they were paid Rs 59,26,686 by overcharging the cost of constructing the model school building. They have also embezzled Rs 17,96,521 in the name of the school and Rs 1660,101 since the fiscal year 2077÷78.
