Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has ordered Purbanchal Cancer Hospital to provide additional loan of Rs 65 crore. The District Court, Jhapa, issued the order in the name of banks and financial institutions.
Prasain had filed a writ petition at the District Court, Jhapa on January 12, 2080 against Kumari Bank, Bank, } Bank, Global IME Bank and Goodwill for not providing loan as per the agreement.
A single bench of Judge Lok Bahadur Hamal ordered the banks to provide additional loan of Rs 650 million to Purbanchal Cancer Hospital.
According to the court’s order, the banks and financial institutions will have to provide Rs 300.9 million for the purchase of equipment and Rs 35 0 million for the current capital of Prasain’s cancer hospital.Also, will have to capitalize until is fully operational. With the court’s order, the banks are engaged in internal discussions.
Under the agreement of consortium in 2018, Kumari Bank, Prabhu Bank, Bank, Global IME Bank and Goodwill Finance had already invested in the construction of the hospital and agreed to invest more. However, Prasain had gone to court saying that he did not provide additional loan as per the agreement. Currently, the court has ordered to provide an additional loan of Rs 650 million, ruling that banks cannot go back on the financial facility.
