Kathmandu. Government spokesperson and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokharel has said the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground at Kirtipur would not be demolished. Responding to a query of media persons while announcing the decisions of the Council of Ministers on Monday, he said that the ground would not be demolished but a new lease agreement would be signed with the TU.

Stating that the university and the playground are state agencies and investments, he said the government would move ahead by signing new agreements. He said, “The state has invested so much, both are state agencies. It is not meant to be broken. ’

The Tribhuvan University (TU) has written to Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) asking it to vacate the cricket ground.
