Kathmandu. The Bharatpur Distribution Centre under the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has blacklisted 281 consumers for not paying electricity bills for a long time. According to the office, the customers have been blacklisted for not paying the arrears even after issuing the notice repeatedly.

According to Rajendra Kumar Chaudhary, chief of the electricity office, the center has been blacklisting consumers who do not pay their dues even for 6 months.NEA employees have been cutting off the power supply to the customers who do not pay the electricity tariff for two months after reading the electricity meter.

In the beginning, the line of the customer who has a high electricity tariff arrance is disconnected. Customers who do not pay electricity tariff even after 6 months of disconnection of the line are blacklisted . Chaudhary said that after cutting the line , the blacklisted customers can apply for the same amount as a new customer by paying the old money to become a subscriber. 

Similarly, the number of blacklisted is decreasing compared to previous years due to the awareness of citizens, he said. There are 75,000 customers at Bharatpur distribution centre so far.

Similarly, a one-door system has been implemented at Bharatpur Electricity Office to ease the service flow. The office has implemented a ‘one-door system’ for the convenience of customers.

According to Rajendra Kumar Chaudhary, chief of the office of the electricity office in the past, the service seekers were compelled to visit different tables and fields for the same work. He said that the situation of facing problems for the service recipients has now been removed due to the confusion about which field to go to and which number to reach. Mayor Chaudhary said that with the implementation of one-door system, arrangements have been made to get necessary information and services from one place. He said that this has saved the time of the service recipients and the work is completed quickly and in a systematic manner.

He said that various reforms have been carried out to provide simple, fast and effective service to the citizens by creating a service-friendly environment.
