Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Six people have been arrested on the charge of swindling Rs 97.58 million in the name of foreign employment.
The arrestees have been identified as Ram Bahadur Alemagar of Rautamai Rural Municipality-4, Ashish Karki of Lahan Municipality-6, Lok Bahadur Shrestha of Tokha Municipality-4, Tulasa Pun Magar of the same Municipality-3, Krishna Prasad Pokharel of Tansen Municipality-7 and Praveen Shrestha of Chandragiri Municipality-11.
Among them, Ram Bahadur had swindled Rs 39.58 million from four people in the name of sending him to Canada, Ashish had duped three people of Rs 1.3 million by luring him of New Zealand, Lok Bahadur had cheated Rs 1.9 million from one of the victims in the name of earning good income in the UK, Rs 1 million from one victim in the name of sending him to the United States of Tulsa, Krishna Prasad had cheated Rs 1 million from one person by luring him of Dubai and Rs 6 lakh from one person by promising to send him to Serbia.
They have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment for further investigation and necessary action, police said.
