Kathmandu. Goods and goods worth Rs 794.87 billion have been imported through Birgunj customs point in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year. Goods entered Nepal through the border point in the first 10 months of the last fiscal year, which is 102.44 billion or 15 per cent more.
Udaya Singh Bista, information officer at the Birgunj Customs Office, said that the import via Birgunj has increased. According to him, the import of petroleum products and iron and iron products has increased in the current fiscal year. In the first 10 months of the last fiscal year, goods worth Rs 692.43 billion were imported.
Five types of petroleum products worth Rs 181.70 billion were imported in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year. Likewise, imports of iron and iron goods worth Rs 69.42 billion were also made.
Imports of machinery and spare parts amounted to Rs 57.66 billion and soybean oil worth Rs 55.07 billion.
