Kathmandu. Home Secretary Raj Kumar Shrestha has directed the organisation to make transfers and promotions impartial and predictable by enhancing skills and capacity.

Narayan Dutta Poudel, who was promoted to the post of Inspector General of Armed Police Force, was promoted to the post of Inspector General of the Armed Police (APF) by the decision of the Council of Ministers on April 28.

Home Secretary Shrestha expressed the belief that dissatisfaction and complaints would be minimized if both organizational transfer system and career development were effectively systematized. He also said that the Armed Police Force Nepal (APF) has been performing well with excellent results in its work area despite limited resources. Home Secretary Shrestha also directed the Armed Police Force (APF) to engage in rescue, management and relief operations with preparedness during the upcoming monsoon-induced disaster.

On the occasion, APF IGP Poudel pledged to discharge responsibilities with honesty, integrity, impartiality and firm resolve keeping the constitution, laws, national interest, organisational dignity and public expectation at the centre.

According to him, a strategic action plan was prepared for policy, institutional and structural consolidation of the organization by strengthening border security during his tenure. He also expressed the belief that the government of Nepal and the Ministry of Home Affairs would provide support for the implementation of the project.

Inspector General of APF Poudel said effective steps would be taken to make the service delivery of the organization timely and accountable to the people by preparing a plan of works as per the 100-point governance reform plan issued by the government.

Inspector General of Police, retired Inspector General of APF, Chief Investigation Director of National Investigation Department, Additional Inspector General of Police, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs and senior officers of APF Nepal were present on the occasion.
