Kathmandu. Jyoti Prakash Pandey, Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Investment Mega Bank (CEO), who left the bank for fear of being arrested, has returned to work. Pandey, who was released from jail following the court’s order, has returned to his regular duty. 

Pandey was arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CI B) on May 12 on the charge of violating the government’s rights by auctioning the property of Smart Telecom.He was arrested while fleeing after switching off his phone , the CIB said. 

However, the Supreme Court (SC) had ordered Pandey’s release from jail after hearing a writ petition filed by his wife Niru.According to the same order, he was released from jail.

The court’s order means that he should not be detained. However, the CIB is investigating him in the smart cell case. He has returned to regular work while the investigation is ongoing.

A director of the bank confirmed that he had left the bank for fear of being arrested before he was arrested. However, after the news of Pandey’s departure from the bank became public,the bank issued a statement defending him and saying that he was in the bank . However, he was arrested from Sindhuli after issued a false statement saying that he was in the bank ।

He is now back at work. With his return to work, there is a risk that evidence of his involvement in the Smart Cell scandal will be destroyed.

After Pandey returned to work, some bank operators have raised their voices saying that the evidence will be destroyed and bank may be dragged into further controversy.However, he is going to the bank in a dadagiri style. and other bosses of the bank are also fed up with his bullying style.
