Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved USD 115 million in concessional loan to improve drinking water and sanitation in municipalities in Nepal.

According to the ADB, more than 850,000 people in 13 districts will benefit from the Integrated Water Supply and Sewerage Management Project.

According to ADB, the project will play a major role in expanding access to drinking water and sewerage and wastewater management.

“Due to rapid urbanization in Nepal, there is a lot of pressure in the urban areas. As a result, most of the communities are deprived of drinking water and basic health facilities,” said ADB Country Director Arno Koshwa. ‘
