Kanchanpur schools closed for four days due to scorching heat

Kathmandu. Kanchanpur: The Bedkot Municipality of Kanchanpur district has decided to close schools for four days due to the increasing heat.

All schools in the municipality have closed for four days from Tuesday to Friday keeping in mind the health of the students, said Chief Administrative Officer Hari Dutta Bhatta.

The Bhimdatta municipality has also decided to give a 12-day holiday in community and institutional schools due to increasing heat. According to Mahesh Bahadur Bam, chief administrative officer of the municipality, the decision has been made to give summer and annual holidays in a lump sum from June 22 to July 2.

Kanchanpur has been experiencing extreme heat in the past one week. The Meteorological Forecasting Division has urged the people to stay alert as heatwave is likely to occur in the Tarai region for the next three days.
