Kathmandu. A national identity card is now mandatory to open a Demat account . CDS & Clearing Limited (CDSC) has implemented with effect from June 1, 2019. 

With this, it is now mandatory to include a national identity card when opening a new demat account for trading shares.

Similarly, a national identity card will be required to open a new account and update the old one.The CD SC has also informed the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) about the decision.
