Two arrested for cheating Rs 40.50 lakh on the pretext of sending them abroad

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: A team from the Kathmandu Valley Investigation Office has arrested two persons on the charge of cheating Rs 4 million 50 thousand on the pretext of sending them to the United States and Croatia.

The arrestees have been identified as Ruku Kumari Shrestha, 45, of Dolakha and Shailendra Shakya, 35, of Morang Urlabari Municipality-6, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) at Kathmandu Valley Investigation Office, Sharat Kumar Thapa Chhetri.

Ruku Kumari Shrestha was arrested on the charge of sending Rs 3.5 million to the US and Shailendra Shakya taking Rs 350,000 to send them to Croatia, according to police.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Thapa Chhetri said that they were arrested from different places of the Kathmandu Valley and have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment, Tahachal, Kathmandu for further investigation and necessary actions.
