Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has said that the government will be more ruthless to end the policy and institutional capture. Finance Minister Wagle said this while speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu.
He said the government was dedicated to maintaining good governance and was engaged in a campaign to end the policy and institutional usurpation to uproot the misrule.
Finance Minister Wagle said that the incumbent government was formed on the basis of the people’s mandate of citizens, entrepreneurs and businessmen fed up with misrule.He said that the government is moving ahead with the objective of making service delivery effective through digitalization, ending policy and institutional capture and establishing merit system (meritocracy).
He also said that although there have been many political speeches in the name of poverty in the past, not enough attention has been paid to the long-term measures of poverty alleviation.
According to him, poverty will not end only by distributing cash to the poor.The Finance Minister said that decent employment is necessary to elevate them to the middle class and the private sector should be active for this.
He claimed that the government has started ‘Big Bang Reforms and in the economy through the budget and said that a big reform has been made in the tax system accordingly.He said that the provision of tax exemption on income up to Rs 1 million and the decision to reduce the high income tax rate by 10 percent will create investment-friendly environment.
