Kathmandu. A total of 80,253 foreign tourists visited Mustang in the month of June 2026. According to the National Trust for Nature Conservation’s Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), Jomsom, a total of 78,670 tourists from SAARC countries and 1,583 tourists from other countries visited Mustang in the month of June 2026.
According to ACAP Jomsom Office Chief Rajesh Gupta, 98.02 percent of the tourists visiting Nepal are from SAARC countries and 1.97 percent from other countries. According to him, more than 95 percent of the foreign tourists who visited Mustang during the month of June were from India.
A total of 65,994 tourists visited Mustang in May 2026. Among them, 61,798 are from SAARC countries and 4,196 are from other countries. According to ACAP Jomsom office, a total of 20,868 foreign tourists visited Mustang in June 2025. A total of 19,649 tourists from SAARC countries and 1,209 foreign tourists from other countries visited Mustang during the month.
ACAP chief Gupta said that the number of foreign tourists visiting Mustang district in June 2026 alone increased by 59,395 compared to June 2025. A total of 222,992 foreign tourists visited Mustang during the six months from January to June 2026. Of them, 208,011 are from SAARC and 14,981 from other countries.
A total of 98,481 tourists had visited Mustang in the six months of January to June 2025. According to the ACAP office, a total of 124,511 tourists visited Mustang in the six months to June 2026 compared to 2025.
According to ACAP Jomsom office, a total of 161,142 foreign tourists visited Mustang from January to December 2025. The number of Indian tourists to Mustang has increased significantly in 2026. More than 95 percent of tourists visiting Mustang are Indian, according to ACAP. ACAP chief Gupta said that a significant number of Indian tourists from neighbouring country India come to Muktinath for the worship.
It may be noted that 50 percent of Indian tourists in Mustang come to Muktinath in their own vehicles. Hotels in Myagdi, Myagdi, Pokhara and Muktinath are also full of Indian tourists visiting Mustang. Most of the Indian tourists who arrive in Mustang return after visiting Muktinath.
Tourists from other countries enter Mustang via Manang under the Round Annapurna trekking route while some foreign tourists from other countries enter Mustang via Pokhara-Jomsom air route and Beni-Jomsom road. According to ACAP Lomanthang, only three percent of tourists entering Mustang visit Upper Mustang.
