Deputy Speaker Ruby Kumari leaves for China

Kathmandu. Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ruby Kumari Thakur, has left for China today. A five-member Nepali delegation led by Minister Dr Thakur left here this morning.

Thakur left for China at 10:45 am today to participate in the fifth forum on international cooperation related to trans-Himalayan cooperation to be held in Ningqi of Xizang Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China.

His team includes Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Dr. Under Secretary Bimala Ghimire, Under Secretary Nagendra Chaudhary and computer programmer Anisha Dhakal are the members of the committee.

Deputy Speaker Ruby is scheduled to address the international forum to be held from July 1-17, 2026 on behalf of the Nepali delegation. The meeting is expected to discuss the issues of sustainable development of the Himalayan region, regional cooperation and expansion of mutual relations.

During the visit, Vice-Speaker and Secretary of the Communist Party of China Xizang Autonomous Regional Committee, Wang Junzheng, will pay courtesy calls. There will also be other high-level meetings. The delegation is scheduled to return home at 12:35 pm on July 19 after wrapping up their visit.
