Kathmandu. In the first 34 days of the current fiscal year, the government has collected more than Rs 100 billion in revenue. According to the Financial Comptroller General’s Office, revenue of Rs one billion has been deposited in the government’s coffers in the first 34th day of the fiscal year.

According to the office, out of the total revenue of one trillion, 14.55 percent, 15.46 percent and income tax 22.17 percent has been collected{{{}}.

Similarly, (VAT)34.04 per cent and 13.78 per cent of revenue has been collected . The government has set a target of collecting Rs1.580 trillion in revenue in the fiscal year 2083/84. Swarnim Wagle has named it ‘Mission 16 trillion’.

He has been directing the agencies under the Ministry of Finance to work with the objective of achieving the high target of revenue in ‘mission mode’ by stopping revenue leakage. 

In the last fiscal year, the government had collected Rs 1,249 billion in revenue.The target for the current fiscal year is 331 billion more than the total collection of the previous year.
