Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Tahir Ali Bhat has urged the government to immediately address the demands of the victims. He made this demand while speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday.
He drew the attention of the government to the fact that 450 meter interest and microfinance victims have been staging sit-in near the National Human Rights Commission office at Harihar Bhawan for a long time. Stating that the victims are tired of paying meter interest, he demanded that the government should fix the ceiling of the interest to be paid immediately.
Although the government has signed separate agreements with two groups of microfinance victims, some of the victims have continued their agitation.
Lawmaker Bhat stressed that the government should be serious about addressing the demands of the meter interest victims.
