Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has said that the new budget has been brought with the objective of building the country from Nepal’s income. Finance Minister Wagle, who is on a visit to his constituency Tanahun, said this while inaugurating the annual review programme of the District Coordination Committee Tanahun . 

He said that he has taken the policy of widening the tax net and increasing the income by collecting and developing the country with one’s own income to overcome the past situation of running the country’s essential daily expenses by asking for loans due to the poor income of the state.

He said that the country’s capacity is less than the people’s hopes and aspirations for development and at the same time, there is no alternative to the country to become rich on its own when the donor loan has become expensive.

‘We’ve been seeing it since the past. We are paying the loan and its interest by taking a loan. The liability of the regular and essential state is 1350 billion. The government’s income is only around Rs 1,250 billion. Finance Minister Wagle said, “Now we have widened the tax rate and brought incentives to pay tax for that.” ’

Finance Minister Wagle has said that everyone should rise above the thinking that they should not take loans, they should not pay taxes, but development should be done in any way. 

He also urged the public to be assured that the government will save the public from the liability of the final tax to address the complaints that the tax has been added to the new sector due to the widening of the tax net.“The government is trying to make the economy of Rs 66 trillion dynamic by making the private sector agitated through a budget of Rs 2,124 billion,” he said. He also said that an environment conducive for non-resident Nepalis to invest in Nepal would be created soon.
