Kathmandu. Minister for Home Affairs Sudhan Gurung, while inspecting the Roshi River at Kavrepalanchowk today, underscored the need of a rapid rescue system for disaster management. Home Minister Gurung and his team reached Roshi Khola on Tuesday to take stock of the situation in the flood-affected areas.
He also inspected the flood-affected settlements and infrastructure and inspected the high-risk areas.
During the inspection, he stressed the need to mobilize rescue teams as per the nature of the disaster. Stating that there was delay in disaster management in the past, Gurung said the current strategy is different.
According to him, a plan has been made to mobilize the people quickly through helicopter as ambulance or rescue team could not reach on time due to road disruption. View the rest of the image:
