Kathmandu. The United States has decided to give citizens easy access to use marijuana for medical purposes. By reclassifying the drug and ensuring further research into the safety and efficacy of marijuana, it will be given easy access for medical purposes.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said, “Marijuana has been reclassified as a drug with moderate to low addictive potential. Research has shown that it will “help expand patients’ access to treatment and empower physicians to make better-informed healthcare decisions.” ’

According to the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), it was previously classified as “Schedule 1”, which is a category of drugs with “currently approved medical use and high potential for abuse”, which includes “heroin” and “methamphetamine”.

It has now been moved to the third level of the five-level Medicinal Schedule.

The decision follows President Donald Trump’s December executive order to move forward with research into the medicinal properties of medical marijuana, the Justice Department said on Thursday.
