Kathmandu. Asimman Singh Basnyat, managing director of Pathao Nepal, has left the country.
Launched in 2018, Pathao Nepal is considered to have established a new culture of ride-sharing services in Nepal. In the initial phase, Basnyat led the company amidst challenges such as regulatory ambiguity, market mistrust and lack of infrastructure. Under his leadership, Pathao not only expanded the service but also made a habit of using ride-sharing to change the urban lifestyle. The credit for this goes to Basnyat’s leadership.
Currently, Pathao Nepal is operating in Kathmandu Valley and all seven provinces of the country. It has provided employment and income opportunities to thousands of driver partners, which has also contributed to the expansion of the gig economy.
Lately, the company has been expanding towards multi-dimensional service. It is now a unified digital service center with facilities like long-distance vehicle booking, inter-city movement, food delivery, parcel delivery across Nepal and bazaar platforms.
Pathao Nepal has expressed gratitude for Basnyat’s contribution and wished him all the best for his upcoming journey.
