164 people get jobs in job fair

Kathmandu. JHAPA: A total of 164 youths have got jobs through the ‘Birtamod Employment Fair’ held in Jhapa. A total of 1,076 applicants had applied for the job, out of which 164 people got jobs in the first phase.

The two-day fair organized by Birtamod Municipality aims to establish direct coordination between employers and unemployed people, said Mayor of Birtamod Municipality, Pabitra Mahatara Prasain.

Representatives of 25 employers’ associations from various sectors participated in the fair.

According to the Birtamod Chamber of Commerce and Industry, efforts will be made to connect more than one thousand applicants with more employment opportunities in the coming days.

71 visitors visited the fair that kicked off at the guest house in Birtamode on Saturday, according to Nirmal Bhattarai, acting president of Birtamode Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
