The government is opening the closed industries one by one, initially preparing to open the Hetauda Textile Industry, cleaning was done!

Kathmandu. With the government preparing to reopen the Hetauda Textile Industry which has been closed for long, the government bodies have intensified theiractivities along with on-site monitoring of the textile industry.

The Hetauda Textile Industry, established in 2032 BS and operated since 2035 BS, was closed in 2057 BS.Since then, several attempts have been made to restart the garment industry, but to no avail. According to Himalaya Bhandari, Information Officer of Hetauda Office, , Industrial Area Management Limited Hetauda has increased its interest in its operation this year.

Along with the textile industry, a yarn factory in Butwal and a cotton production factory in Nepalgunj of Banke were also brought into operation simultaneously. Information Officer Bhandari said, “After the closure of the Hetauda garment industry, these two industries were also closed.” ’

Since then, efforts are being made to reopen it from time to time, he said.Stating that the textile industry was in a condition to resume immediately, Information Officer Bhandari said the equipment could be used after minor repairs. Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Gauri Kumari Yadav, has carried out an onsite inspection of the Hetauda garment industry, he said, adding that the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has taken initiative for the resumption of Hetauda garment industry.

Similarly, a team comprising Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Meena Kumari Lama and Chief District Officer of Makawanpur also inspected the industry.Responding to the queries raised by the lawmakers on the budget allocated for the coming fiscal year 2083/84 , Minister Yadav said that the government is preparing to bring the Hetauda Textile Industry into operation from this year. 

Stating that the Hetauda Textile Industry would be the first to come into operation among the industries and said that Butwal yarn and cotton farming would also be brought into operation this year. The Armed Police Force No 14 Battalion has been stationed on the premises of the factory since 2075 BS following the closure of the garment factory. Before the formation of the Armed Police Force, there were only two employees for and . The industry is now completely safe as has become a den of addicts who used drugs before becoming armed. Armed Police Force, Nepal Army and Nepal Police jointly cleaned the premises of the industry.
