Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balen Shah has directed all seven provinces to establish burn treatment centers. KATHMANDU — Prime Minister Balendra Shah has directed the authorities concerned to expedite the plan to establish well-equipped burn treatment centres in all seven provinces.
During a discussion with the Vice-Chancellor of the Academy of Health Sciences at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers today, Minister Bhattarai directed the government to forward necessary plan to strengthen the burn wards in the main government hospitals.
The Prime Minister suggested the government to coordinate with federal, province and health institutions concerned to ensure timely and quality treatment to the patients suffering from severe burnout.
Stating that qualitative, effective and citizen-friendly health service was the top priority of the government, he drew attention for effective implementation of good governance and sanitation in hospital and improvement in service delivery.
The Prime Minister directed the government to effectively implement the provision of providing subsidized 10 per cent outpatient (OPD) service to the poor and helpless people in health services. Suggesting that other institutions should also make the best and good practices developed by a health institution as a medium of learning and share it, he said initiatives would be taken to resolve the issue of encroachment of KAHS’s land as per the law.
During the discussions, the VCs presented suggestions on improving the quality of medical education, improvement in health service delivery, sanitation of hospitals, expansion of specialist health services, efficient health human resource management, research promotion and infrastructure development.
They apprised the PM about digital transformation in health service, effective implementation of hospital information management system and impact on institutional development due to encroachment of land of some enterprises.
Vice-Chancellor of Patan Academy of Health Sciences Prof Dr Nabis Saman Singh Pradhan, Rapti Academy of Health Sciences Prof Dr Ajay Kumar Mishra, Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Narayan Singh Gurung, Vice-Chancellor of BP Koirala Academy of Health Sciences, Dharan Dr Smriti Kafle and National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) Vice-Chancellor Bibek Acharya were present on the occasion.
