Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Bal en) has assured to address the legitimate demands of the shareholders . During a discussion with the representatives of capital market regulators, brokers and investors on Monday, Prime Minister Shah said the government was ready to reform the capital market by addressing the genuine demands of the investors.
Former president of the Stock Brokers Association of Nepal and president of the capital market forum under the Federation of NepaleseChambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Priyaraj Priyaraj said that the Prime Minister has further expressed commitment to work for capital market reform.
He urged the Prime Minister Shah to expand the role of institutional investors to balance the market, reform the tax system, the regulatory regulatory provision required for the operation of margin lending through brokers, the provision of entry of non-resident Nepalese (NRN) into the capital market and the restructuring of the stock exchange He said that discussions were held on the issue of making it technology-friendly.
Likewise, the government has demanded reforms in the IPO system and removal of the 10 policies and giving priority to the bookbuilding process through qualified institutional through qualified institutional investors, and increasing the liquidity and transaction volume of the market by starting intraday transactions, Regmi said.He also urged the government to implement the system of taxation in the stock market only by making arrangements for adjusting the losses of the investors.
Regmi also said that Prime Minister Shah has taken all these issues seriously.He also said that the government would hold discussions with the Securities Board of Nepal, Securities Board of Nepal, Stock Exchange , CD S and other regulators and market bodies to make necessary reforms.
