Kathmandu. Police have arrested two people on the charge of swindling millions of rupees on the pretext of sending them to France and Romania for foreign employment. A police team from Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested 33-year-old Sagar Upreti and 25-year-old Krishna Kumar Upadhyay.
Sagar Upreti has been accused of taking Rs 9 lakh from a victim on the pretext of sending him to France. He was arrested from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-31 area, police said.
Likewise, Krishna Kumar Upadhyay was arrested on the charge of cheating a victim of Rs 400,000 on the pretext of sending him to Romania.
According to the police, both of them were arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victims after they went out of contact after collecting money on the pretext of sending unemployed youths abroad with lucrative salaries.
They have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment, Tahachal for further investigation and necessary actions, police said.
