Kathmandu. The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has said it has completed all the technical preparations required for the implementation of the taxpayer incentive gift program. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle was informed about the method and system of selection of gifts and presented a model draw system along with .

Director General and Joint Secretary of the Department, Dr.According to Bhishma Kumar Bhusal, the first gift under the taxpayer incentive program will be announced on Friday.

Gift winner will be selected from among the consumers who have purchased goods and services online from July 1 to 15 and have purchased in cash and uploaded VAT or PAN bill on the website of the Inland Revenue Department.

According to the department, 15 consumers will receive a cash prize of Rs 100,000 each after tax deduction on the basis of each day’s transaction during the period.In addition, one person will be given a bumper cash prize of Rs. 10 lakhs to one of the eligible consumers who purchase the goods and services from July 1 to 15. According to the department, the bumper gift will be taxed as per the prevailing law.

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle had announced to run such a gift program with the objective of encouraging taxpayers through the budget of the fiscal year 2083/84. 

Taxpayer Incentive Program Operation Procedure According to the Taxpayer Incentive Program Operation Procedure, for transactions from 1 to 15 of every month and (for transactions from 16 to the last day of the month) will be announced regularly ।

Consumers who purchase goods and services through or or digital QR will automatically participate in the program. However, the purchase bill must be kept safe in order to claim the gift.

Consumers buying goods and services in cash will have to collect PAN or VAT bill and upload it on the website of the Inland Revenue Department.According to the department, they will be able to participate in the gift program through coupon received after uploading the bill.
