Woman attempts self-immolation in Dhanusha

Kathmandu. Dhanusha: A woman who was hit by a meter in Dhanusha attempted self-immolation. Phool Kumari Rajak tried to set herself on fire by pouring petrol on her body in front of the District Court in Janakpurdham on Wednesday.

He was stopped by security personnel after seeing him spraying petrol. Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City Ward No. Phool Kumari, 50, of Ward No. 4, had taken Rs 600,000 from moneylender Gopal Sah by mortgaging her 8 dhur land in 2081 BS.

It is said that the moneylender Gopal Sah did not return the money he had taken and demanded the return of his land.The victim, Phool Kumari, had filed a complaint after she came to know that Gopal Sah had taken a loan by keeping the land in the bank .

Gopal Sah, 53, his wife Rekha Sah, 48, and their 32-year-old son Hareram Sah were arrested on July 17, 2018.More than a dozen complaints of interest and fraud have been filed against the trio.

Hundreds of meters of interest victims have been staging a sit-in in front of the District Police Office, Dhanusha and the District Court, Dhanusha, since that day. They have demanded a high-level CIB probe into the matter, alleging that the three arrested are notorious meter brawlers.
