Kathmandu. In the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year 2082/73, Prabhu Bank had incurred a loss of Rs 240 million. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 24.12 crore in the review period of the previous FY.
In the review period, the bank earned a net interest income of Rs 9.26 billion, but it suffered losses due to the rise in bad loans.
Prabhu Bank’s NPL has reached 15.55 percent even though the Rastra Bank has allowed the interest collected till July 30 to show the income of the end of July, even when the interest is raised to the extent of evergreening, the amount of the loan taken from other banks for different purposes to show the loan active, the NPL of Prabhu Bank has reached 15.55 percent.
The bank, which had made a loss of around Rs 50 crore, has been able to show a loss of only Rs 24 crore.
There are also a lot of bad loan files in the bank. However, there is no sign of the bank recovering the bad loans. Even the employees of the bank have said that the chances of recovering bad loans are very low.
In the review period, the bank’s distributable profit stood at Rs 6.31 billion. The bank’s earnings per share (EPS) has also decreased by Rs 1.02 after incurring huge losses in the same period of the last FY.
