Kathmandu. Police have arrested those involved in the theft and purchase of hydropower diesel. Police have arrested five persons including four drivers involved in stealing and selling diesel used in Mahaku lung Rural Municipality-2 and Bo del in Solukhumbu district.

According to the District Police Office, Solukhumbu, the investigation was initiated based on information that the drivers of the project were involved in stealing fuel and selling it at a cheap price.The police have arrested four drivers including a person who purchased the stolen diesel.

Police have seized 665 kg (about 800 litres of diesel) from them.A case of theft has been registered against the arrested and investigation is underway.

The arrested is Shyam Bahadur Jogi, 42, of Kamalamai Municipality- 8, Sindhuli . Likewise, the arrestees have been identified as Keshav Karki, 24, of Golan jor, Sindhuli, Leela Bahadur Chauhan, 24, of Sindhuli, Yam Bahadur Basnet, 25, of Solukhumbu Thulung Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality-1 and AkashRai, 24, of Solukhumbu Thulung Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality.Information Officer at the District Police Office, Nirmal Thapa, said that they were working as drivers in the hydropower project.

According to the police, the Solukhumbu District Court has remanded them in custody for five days for investigation into the theft case.Further investigation into the incident is underway, said the District Police Office, Solukhumbu.
