Kathmandu. The Lions Club International Foundation (LCI F) has provided $200,000 (Approx 30.8 million for the floods in Bhotekoshi. L CIF is asking for a ‘major catastrophe grant’ for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the flood affected .

The assistance includes food, safe shelter, health care and essential supplies for the flood victims and for flood victims.

The assistance will be provided to the affected families through local Lions clubs Chartered President of Lions Club of Dreams, informed Bhuwan Bhandari, Chartered President of ‘Lions Club of . According to Bhandari, long-term reconstruction and rehabilitation programs will also be carried out by rehabilitating the affected communities after the disaster.

Meanwhile, Director of Lions International Rajan Lamsal said that the speed of relief is of paramount importance during the time of disaster and Lions Club is committed to providing assistance to the affected communities as soon as possible.

Similarly, Lions Club International has pledged to provide continuous support to the communities affected by natural disasters from emergency relief to long-term reconstruction.

Relief distribution to more than 200 families

Likewise, over 200 families have been provided relief materials to Lions District 325 I Nepal and Lions Club of Kathmandu, Samakhusi.

Keshar Bahadur Bhandari, chairperson of the MultipleCouncil, who is leading the relief distribution and assistance , said that the spirit of Lions International is humanitarian service and not only to provide relief materials in disaster but also to support the victims in their grief and to help the victims to recover.

Stating that food, clothes and household necessities have been provided to the flood-affected families, he said that Lions volunteers have been mobilized to provide relief to the affected people despite the geo graphical difficulties and therisk of disaster.
