Kathmandu. Shankar Group has donated Rs 4 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for the relief and rehabilitation of the people affected by the disaster. Deepa Agrawal, Director of Shankar Group, and the senior management team handed over a cheque of Rs 4 crore to the Finance Minister for the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.
On the third day of the disaster, the Group in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs provided 2,500 tarpaulin tents worth Rs 2.5 million to the displaced people through the Chief District Officer of Bhairahawa.
Shankar Group has expressed condolences to the bereaved families and paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the disaster. It also expressed gratitude to the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, volunteers and government officials who were involved in the rescue and relief work.
Stating that it is its responsibility to stand shoulder to shoulder with the government and citizens in this time of crisis, the group has pledged to continue its support in the coming days as well.
