Kathmandu. The price of cooking LP gas has increased. The industrialists have increased the price of LPG saying that the transportation has become expensive due to the obstruction of the road in Krishnabhir.
Industrialists have said that the price of gas has been increased by Rs 105.38 per cylinder due to the cost of alternative transportation industrialists. With this, the price of gas in Kathmandu will now be Rs 2,165.38 per cylinder.
According to the Industry Association, when gas was transported in bullets, 1,250 cylinders of gas used to come in one bullet. However, now the work of transporting gas through bottling is being done in the Terai.
Thus, the transportation fare is only Rs 180 per cylinder, but Rs 105 has been increased for the consumers, according to the Chamber of Industry. Industrialists have claimed that the price has been increased after the agreement with the Nepal Oil Corporation.
On the other hand, the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has said that the price of increased gas has been fixed only for a distance of 50 kilometers. That is, if the gas is transported from a distance of more than 50 kilometers , the industrialists will be able to charge the transportation fare themselves. The corporation has clarified that this is not the current agreement but the rule that has been in place since the past.
