Kathmandu. From now on, one hundred rupee notes can also be withdrawn from ATMs. As Dashain is approaching,the Rastra Bank has directed the banks and financial institutions to withdraw up to one hundred rupees from ATMs.
The Currency Management Department of Nepal has written a letter to the Nepal Bankers and asked them to make arrangements to distribute one hundred rupees through the ATM machine from now on.
According to the official of the Nepal Ra stra Bank, this directive has been issued to ease the service and to avoid the overcrowding of banks and financial institutions } during the festive season.
Currently, and AT Ms of financial institutions are distributing only Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 denominations. However, now Rs 100 can be withdrawn from ATMs of and financial institutions.
This is believed to eliminate the compulsion of the service recipients to queue up at the bank for exchange of small denomination notes.
