According to the bank’s {{} data, Nepal’s travel income in the first month of the current fiscal year (July) was Rs 5.44 billion. Nepal’s travel income in the same period of the last fiscal year was Rs 5.41 billion. Which is 0.4 percent less than the current fiscal year.

Since then, Nepalese have spent Rs 15.92 billion on foreign trips during the same period. Last year, such expenditurewas Rs 21.70 billion, which was Rs 21.70 billion.

The decline in foreign travel expenses has helped control foreign currency outflows, the bank said.

According to the bank‘s bank, a large part of the foreign travel expenses are spent on education. In July alone, Nepalis spent Rs 10.80 billion on studying abroad. Last year, such expenditure was Rs 14.31 billion.
